Privacy Policy

Pthfndr is an AI-powered road trip planner. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and what happens to it. The short version: your trips live on your device first, we sync them so you don’t lose them, and we don’t sell anything to anyone.

What we collect

• Account information. When you sign in, we store your email address and a display name so your trips can sync across devices and be shared with friends you invite.
• Trip data. Itineraries, stops, routes, notes, and trip logs you create. Trips are stored on your device and synced to our servers so they survive device loss and can be shared with trip members.
• Planning conversations. Messages you send to the planning agent are processed to generate your itinerary and stored with your account so your conversation history is available across devices.
• Photos you attach. Images you add to trips or your profile are screened automatically for prohibited content before being stored.
• Location data. The app uses your device location to show your position on the map and to plan from where you are. Location is used in the moment; we do not keep a history of your movements.

Third-party services

Pthfndr is built on a small set of infrastructure providers, each receiving only what it needs to do its job:

• OpenAI processes planning conversations to generate itineraries, and screens attached images for prohibited content.
• Mapbox provides maps, routing, and navigation. Map tiles and route requests are subject to Mapbox’s privacy policy.
• Supabase provides authentication and hosts our database.
• Brave Search powers the agent’s web lookups (for example, checking whether a campground is open). Queries are not tied to your identity.

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train models.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete individual trips at any time from the app. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at support@pthfndr.app and we will complete the deletion within 30 days.

Offline behavior

Trips are stored locally in the app’s on-device database and remain fully usable without connectivity. Sync with our servers happens automatically when a connection is available.

Children

Pthfndr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and note the change in the app’s release notes.
